Today commenced with an interview for ABC Radio Canberra with Mau Kuri. Genevieve, the interviewer, was delighted with Mau Kuri wearing medals, a story she shared with her listeners.
We proceeded as a group to Soldier On for lunch.
Here, Australian veterans shared their stories and their tales of support received by this initiative. We were treated to a delicious lunch, and a cake to celebrate our time visiting.
For the afternoon, we travelled to Yass, the veterans were fortunate to experience an unexpected surprise, a visit to an alpaca farm. We were greeted by Clearview owner Bob Richardson, who spoke with passion about these fascinating animals.
After a reluctant departure from this beautiful property, we meet with prominent members of the Yass community for dinner, including the Honourable Mike Kelly. The veterans exchanged traditional Timorese gifts as tokens of their friendship and appreciation.
